AUGURY Guitarist Begins Work On New HUMANOID Album
January 8, 2010AUGURY guitarist Mathieu Marcotte has issued the following update on his instrumental solo project HUMANOID:
I've been working on some new compositions in the last two years, and finally started the pre-production process for the second HUMANOID album.
"There's gonna be some cool surprises on this one since i wanna involve more guests and try new things and techniques.
Since I was a lot busy with AUGURY lately, its been hard to work on both projects at the same time...but now the timing is good for me and I'm really excited about the songs and making this record!"
HUMANOID's debut album, "Remembering Universe", was released in 2008 via Panoptic Records, a division of the Disconcert Music Company.
HUMANOID is an acoustic-space-metal concept with varied influences such as CYNIC, PINK FLOYD as well as OPETH and features guest appearances by Dominic "Forest" Lapointe (AUGURY, QUO VADIS, ATHERETIC) on fretless bass, ChaotH (UNEXPECT) on bass and Tommy McKinnon (NEURAXIS) on drums and percussion. The cover artwork (see below) is an original painting from Martin Lacroix (VENGEFUL, SPASME) and inner illustrations are from Michel "Away" Langevin (VOIVOD).
